Traulsen, Hobart and Vulcan Announce the First Winner of Save Your Kitchen 2024

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 7, 2024) – ITW Food Equipment Group is proud to announce the first winner of the Save Your Kitchen 2024 campaign sweepstakes. The McCrory School District, McCrory, Arkansas won by random selection in the first drawing of 2024. 

This eleventh iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off this April. Save Your Kitchen contest provides free Traulsen, Hobart and Vulcan kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants each year.  McCrory ISD is the first recipient of the new kitchen equipment prize package.

The McCrory School District is a comprehensive community public school district serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from McCrory, Arkansas. The district is made up of two schools with an enrollment of nearly 600 students.

McCrory selected a One-Section Traulsen Reach-In Refrigerator featuring more than 24 cubic feet of storage and advanced technology such as a Variable Speed Compressor (VSC), Traulsen’s StayClear™ Condenser coil and Smart Control^TM. As a part of the Traulsen Spec Line offering, this unit provides top industry performance, durability, and ease of use.

Their Hobart selection is the FP150 continuous-feed food processor. This product can process up to 14 pounds of vegetables and fruit per minute and features a large, removable full-size feed hopper that minimizes the need for pre-cutting to cut down on prep time.

Their Vulcan prize selection is the Vulcan VBP15 Warming Cabinet. This heavy-duty holding cabinet features a blower motor that gently distributes heat to keep the cabinet at a consistent temperature from top to bottom, resulting in better food quality and less food waste.

“I was very surprised to learn we won three pieces of equipment. I have been food service director here for 25 years and this has never happened before!” said Donna Kruse, Food Service Director for McCrory School District.

Kruse continued, “We will be using the equipment in the high school cafeteria, and since we didn’t have a food processor, the food preparation process will really be sped up. We needed a new heated cabinet, so both it and the refrigerator will be very helpful to keep food at the right temperature during serving time.”

The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Among the products offered in this year’s sweepstakes are Traulsen refrigerators, a freezer or a milk cooler, a Centerline™ by Hobart slicer or mixer, or a Hobart food processor, plus a Vulcan VBP15 warming cabinet for all four sweepstakes. A Baxter, Mini Rotating Rack Gas Convection Oven and a Hobart AM16 base dish machine are included in the July sweepstakes only. Different products may be available for specific sweepstakes.
