Hobart Custom-Painted “Ignite the Passion” Pizza Mixer to be Awarded at International Pizza Expo® 2010

Although people are often passionate about the culinary arts, passion is not a word commonly associated with food equipment—until now. For the fifth consecutive year, Hobart plans to award a custom-painted 60-quart Hobart Legacy® Pizza Mixer (model HL662) during the March 2-4 International Pizza Expo® in Las Vegas. The theme of the 2010 pizza mixer is “Ignite the Passion.” Expo attendees can stop by Hobart booth #429 and enter for a chance to win the Legacy mixer with bowl and dough hook.

Signed by Don “The Egyptian” Boeke, creator and owner of Egyptian Custom Body in Dayton, Ohio, this year’s hand-painted design includes bold graphic elements and colors that symbolize the passion and excitement of hot rod cars and motorcycles. Featuring flames igniting from the base of the mixer, the use of pearlescent blends of amber, yellow, orange and red on a candy apple red background give the perception of flames dancing upward.

The Legacy mixer includes:

  • Swing-out bowl designed to facilitate the ease of adding ingredients and removal of product
  • Single-point bowl installation for easier removal and installation of the bowl
  • Power Bowl Lift to enable operators to raise and lower a fully loaded bowl with the touch of a button
  • Hobart Quick Release agitators and bowl scraper, each designed for easy mounting and removal
  • SmartTimer feature to produce even more consistent mixes
  • SmartPlus2 for programming of up to five recipes with up to five steps
  • Shift-on-the-Fly to let operators shift mix speeds without stopping the mixer
  • Slow Start Agitation to minimize product splash-out
  • Motor design that gradually increases rpm, extending the overall life of the mixer by reducing pressure on critical components.
