Traulsen is well known for continuously developing new products, technologies and innovations to meet customer needs—and to meet our own standards for top quality. The Traulsen Technology and Testing Lab is the center of our research and development efforts, working in tandem with our Traulsen Consultant Services Group. It’s how we make sure we’re working on what customers are asking for—equipment that is tougher, smarter, easier, more efficient, more reliable and more convenient. And every piece of equipment we introduce is first tested to meet the food industry’s most stringent standards for performance and food safety. Then they’re tested to even tougher standards: our own.

On the technology side, new components—particularly new electronic systems for more precise and far simpler temperature controls, monitors and user operation—are developed in the center’s component model shop. This is also where our engineers write and program special controls for unique customer applications.

Our testing labs are both UL and NSF certified, meeting all standards for foodservice equipment testing. The labs include four test chambers with capabilities to test equipment and controls across a wide range of air temperatures, relative humidity levels, airflow rates, as well as automatic door-opening equipment—to expose every component and product to the harsh environments of a real working kitchen, taken to extremes. All performance data is logged, first for internal evaluation and then as substantive comparative data for evaluation and certification by external organizations, such as NAFEM data protocols and HACCP temperature monitoring requirements.
